Why move the earth when a golf hole should follow the natural contours?" That was Pepe Gancedo's question when designed Torrequebrada. Benalmádenas only golf course. Since its opening in 1976 Torrequebrada has hosted many world-class tournaments including the Spanish Open. One of the most popular golf courses in Spain, it is the home club of PGA European Tour professional Migual Angel Jiménez. Torrequebrada offers golfers a challengin layout with plenty of trees and water hazards with several particularly tricky holes. The 16th, a short par four, is a dogled to the right with second shot towards an elevated green where the pin is barely visible.
The course offers spectacular views over the sea but the wind can sometimes present players with an extra degree of difficulty.
