This
was Seve Ballesteros' first design in Spain, three loops of nine
holes starting and finishing at the clubhouse.
It's a long, American-style layout with four lakes forming water
hazards at eight holes
Also, watch out for the trees: there are over a thousand trees
of 30 different species planted throughout the course and although
they do afford some nice cooling shade, they also stand ready
to punish stray shots. Actually 9 additional holes are being constructed
(also Seve's design), so from March 2001 there will be 36 holes
available. Novo Sancti Petri is located between the small towns
of Conil and Chiclana de la Frontera. Visitors will love the four
miles of beautiful virgin Atlantic beaches while just next door
is the Royal Andalus Golf Hotel. The complex also offers a golf
school, an excellent practice ground, horseback riding, football
and tennis, and the resort development around it is hard to beat.
The club has become very popular and was the site of the 1993
Turespaña Masters Open de Andalucía.
