Las
Minas, formerly called La Rocina, is 25 kilometres west of Sevilla
near the village of Aznalcázar, set among the pine forest
which surround the Doñana National Park. Dedigned by Antonio
García Garrido, who was also responsible for the desing
of La Quinta and Santa María Golf in Marbella, Las Minas
is laid out over gently rolling terrain and although it is relatively
flat, players should be careful with the raised greens. They are
well protected by bunkers and , at no fewer than six of the nine
holes, water hazards.
Thankfully, there are olive and orange trees to provide some shade.
The club is open to the public and also offers horseback riding
and a shooting ggallery, and there is a good restaurant in the
clubhouse.
