The Almerimar golf course is just one facet of what is becoming one of the most comprehensive resorts in all Europe with a marina, hotel, apartments and a wide range of sports facilities. Designed by Kirby, Player and Associates, the course features generously wide fairways although players need to be careful in order to avoid the many trees. The greens are also large, though well protected by strategically positioned sand traps. At five holes of this course there are water hazards and at one hole, the short 12 th, you must flight your tee shot over a hundred metres of water in order to reach the green, which stands on an island.
